Recording Incidents and Accidents

The Incident Manager allows you to record and manage incidents and accidents providing a detailed audit trail and documentation of corrective actions.

The Health & Safety Management system includes an Incident Manager module, offering a selection of seven forms designed to report various types of workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses.

The main principles of the Incident Manager module are as follows:

1. Record an Incident.
When an incident occurs, go to Incident Manager and fill out a New Incident Form.

2. Manage your Investigation.
This will then open a Case, where you can add all the additional details you learn about the incident as you perform your investigation.

3. Close your Investigation.
Once you have completed your investigation you can close the case

How To Record an Incident

  1. Log in to BCarm and click on Health & Safety Management.
  2. Go to the Incident Manager and click on New Incident Form.
  3. You will see a section named Complete a new incident form. Select the form you would like to fill out.

If you want to fill out the form on paper first, you can also print off a blank copy of an incident form.

If you would like to create your own custom incident form, contact our helpdesk team

  4. A popup window will appear. You should advise the specific date and time of the incident, what Org Group (Department) was involved, and how severe the incident was.

    Then click Save and Continue.

  5.  You should now complete the incident form in full providing as much detail as possible

  6. You can then add attachments to the form.
This can include photos, documents, or even video footage such as CCTV recordings.
(Video files must be in an Mp4. format and under 100MB in size).

Evidence can be added to the case later if it isn’t immediately available.
  7. When you have completed the form click Save and Submit.

Once an incident form is submitted, it will turn into a Case that can be viewed and updated under Incident Manager > Manage Incidents.
