You can use statuses to manage a user's permissions in BCarm
Pending, Live, Suspended and Disabled are the 4 status types. Here's how these settings affect your user:
Pending
This user has only recently been created, and doesn't yet have access to the system. If you anticipated a new employee needing access to BCarm, you'd create them as a pending user. On the day they're granted access to the system their status would be updated to Live.
Live
This user can log in to the system, and launch any one of the applications they've been given access to. All live users consume one of your company's user licences (you may not be subject to licences depending on your account type).
Suspended
This user cannot log in to the system temporarily. Should an employee take an extended leave for maternity, paternity or sickness, they should be suspended until they return to work. This indicates to other administrators that this user isn't currently available for work, and so should not be assigned tasks, documents or training.
A suspended employee does not consume a user licence.
Disabled
This user's access has been revoked permanently. Should an employee leave the company, or no longer have a need to be in the system, disable their account.
Our system supports disabling users rather than deleting them. Disabling a user leaves their record in your applications, even if the employee can't log in. This allows your company to retain a history of H&S correspondence and training for a given employee.
